Most Folks know that the Holy Catholic Church is the only Christian Church that can trace its roots all the way back to Jesus Christ Himself for it is the church HE began.
"Catholic" translates to: "universal". Regardless if one goes to Mass in their home town or in Rome it is the same.
Yet here in the United States Catholic Archdioceses require that Catholics register in the Catholic Parish they attend. This is for financial purposes in that now days there is such thing as "Diocesan Priests" who are not at all "Sacrificially Suffering Servants" in the sense Our Lord was and how all Catholic Priests were at one time.
Diocesan Priests receive salaries, medical benefits and 401 K retirement no different than is they were President of Ford, Chrysler or Wal-Mart Companies.... based upon how much you give to their parish churches collection basket.
There was a time that all priests were content to serve simply trusting God to meet their needs.
Still today priests brothers and nuns who are in Orders...not Diocesans receive a meager monthly stipend but typically that $20.00 a month stipend they give to someone in need knowing God places on the heart of another who will drop off what ever they need that they lack as they need it.
And so the sad truth is many Diocesan Priests lack the true spirit of the priesthood and notice who gives what
and treats them differently...and not as they should. Thank heaven this is not so of all Diocesan Priests but for it to be true of even one...
It is one too many.
